The first copy of ‘Sound Before Symbol‘ is in the UK. It has visited SAGE in London, myself in Scotland and is now in Yorkshire in the safe hands of my MUM!

New Early Years Foundation Stage Framework published today
A greater emphasis upon phonics is proposed. There are now 7 areas of learning – literacy is a separate area. This is good news for ‘Sounds and Symbols’ – this programme fits perfectly with these proposals. Not so good news for having to rewrite and reincorporate new proposals in my book! ‘Sound Before Symbol’ gets the thumbs up!
The proposal for Sound Before Symbol was passed at this morning’s Editorial Board meeting at Sage Publishing. It has had the provisional ‘thumbs up’ so we can look forward to reading it, hopefully in the not too distant future!
